Contemporary and friend of Louis Muhlstock, Moe Reinblatt and Sam Borenstein, Leibovitch studied in the USA, Paris, Mexico and Israel.

On his return to Montreal, he exhibited at gallery l’art Français presenting powerful landscapes expressive and full of life. Then, he experimented with different subjects in more or less abstract way. In 1962, he exhibited in Toronto and Montreal: his paintings were a great success for criticism and public.

” I have been asked many times why I dedicate myself so completely to painting – I do it because I must. Life has meaning to me only through my work. My interest in life is based on my art and it is the connection I have with reality. ” N.L.
