Frederick ‘Tex’ Dawson was an architect by training, designing the Notre-Dame-de-Pompei Catholic Church on Sauvé St. E at St. Michel Blvd., erected in 1967. Dawson also has the distinction of being the only architect to have designed two pavilions for the Expo 67 World Fair in Montreal: for Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius.

As an illustrator Dawson created the drawings for the Montreal Gazettes All Our Yesterdays.
