Canadian born Henry Walter Smith began his artistic journey in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Smith had a successful career as a lighting designer in the San Francisco Bay area before moving to Sonora to pursue painting full time.  His works are found at the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Hamilton as well as many private and corporate collections.
