John Ellison (1912-1957) was born in Hamilton, Ontario. He exhibited work in the B.C. Artists annual show in 1944, and also had work in the 1944 British Columbia At Work exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He was in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, living in Victoria.
