Born in Montreal in 1934, Pierre Gendron studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal with Jacques de Tonnancour and Albert Dumouchel from 1953 to 1958.
From 1958 to 1960, he completed an apprenticeship in lithography and engraving with Desjobert and Friedlander in Paris.
In 1958, he received a grant from the Quebec government, and in 1960, a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. Also in 1960, he was awarded the prize at the 6th Lugano International Exhibition in Switzerland.
He has exhibited in Europe, the United States, and Canada. His work is included in many public and private collections.
