Raymond Caouette was born in 1958 at Abitibi (Quebec), a self-taught artist that has been painting professionally since 1980. His subjects are mainly landscapes of the Quebec province. He captures his subjects by sketching on location or by taking photographs, and then completing his paintings in his studio. He paints exclusively with oils, applied on canvas. Caouette uses a limited pallet of bright colors making his paintings vibrant and luminous. His style can be described as figurative impressionist with strong color contrasts. He is recognized a great contemporary Quebec landscape artist. He participated to numerous shows including; Prestigious Canadian Artist exposition, 2010, Toronto, Galerie Christin, 2008, Toronto, LES BOULEAUX BLANCS solo exposition 2008-07, Ottawa and many more. His paintings are also part of many private and corporate collections including; Bank of Montreal, Government of Canada, Banque of Hong Kong, Calgary, Ottawa Parliament, Calgary airport.
