Louise Calvé was born in Montreal in 1937. After obtaining a diploma in pedagogy and painting from the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, she continued her studies in lithography at the Atelier Desjobert in Paris.

This artist’s gestural painting is characterized by a celebration of color. Her work is a hymn to nature where the abstract and the figurative unite.

Louise Calvé has been exhibiting since 1960. She has had several group and solo exhibitions. Her acrylics can also be found in several collections in Canada, the United States and Europe.
