Richard Cordeau (1947-2015) ‘Construction’

Acrylique sur toile – abstraction – signée Richard Cordeau – mesurant 30×35 pouces

Saint-Hyacinthe QC artist Richard Cordeau was active in the art mileu by the early 60s.
Following an artistic path as well as advanced studies in the sciences, Cordeau transitioned to artistic study at L’École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal in 1978.

Recognized as a semi-abstract minimalist landscape artist, Cordeau oriented his research toward conceptual art, developing his personal technique of three dimensional oil painting which incorporated texture and engravings.

His signature techniques are found in international collections in North America, Europe and Africa.

“In my opinion, the search for beauty challenges us to overcome superficiality; consequently, I love exploring the boundaries between the visible world and its invisible soul. Technically, it involves finding a compromise between the figurative and the abstract.” R.C.
