Born in the Ukraine in 1961, artist Yuri Tremler went to art and design school in Russia and Germany. In 1996 he emigrated to Israel where he began working as a jewelry designer and eventually began to focus exclusively on oil paintings. His subjects range from abstract to expressionistic figurtative pieces. Although his cafe and bar scenes are painted with a pallete knife, his figures maintain a soft edge and his artwork has a smooth, flowing composition. The combination of color and form give his paintings and limited edition prints a relaxed elegance that has made him very succesful both in Israel and here in the US
