Vivan WALKER – Huile sur panneau signée et datée 1959,mesurant 20×24
A beautifully painted oil on Masonite work featuring the peak autumn color in the mountains, likely the Laurentians north of Montreal. The artist is VIVIAN WALKER (1903-1972), who signed her name in the wet paint, at lower left. Walker was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario. She received art training in the Montreal area including at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. She was a student of Adam Sherriff Scott and E. Stanley Turnbull (the latter, in New York). Her body of work includes landscapes of eastern Canada, urban scenes, portraits and floral still life.
