Lukas Mouka is a Czech-Canadian painter based in Campbell River BC.
Mouka’s paintings are generally formed from composite images using source materials as well as improvisation from imagination. Fusing classical figurative oil painting, with perspectives on narrative that come from time-based media training, Lukas is primarily a figurative artist who’s interested in exploring the endless possibilities of representation through paint.

Born in Communist Czechoslovakia, his family immigrated to Canada when he was five years old, first to Ottawa then Toronto where he  pursued his artistic training. Especially drawn to painting and later choosing to study classical animation broadening his technical skills and develop a love of drawing. This influence can be seen in his work today where he sometimes uses multiple images to convey transformation and movement, two concepts that have always fascinated him.
