Shawinigan native Roger Ricard began his career as a landscape painter in the early 1970s.
Initial interest in gouache and water-colour painting has transitioned to oil painting which is now his preferred medium.

Autodidactic Ricard has employed an impasto and textural technique which blends realism with dreamlike impressionism, creating his vibrant and colourful scenes. Ricard’s paintings are found in galleries and important collections all across Canada.
