Born in La Broquerie, Manitoba, Canada, in 1942, Liliane Fournier attended the «Ecole des Beaux-Arts» of Montreal in 1961 and studied under Andre Bertounesque and Charles-Harold Boyes. She lived for two years in Asia where she learnt the technique of batik, which she subsequently employed in her paintings of different landscapes when she returned in Americas. In 1980, Liliane Fournier won the first prize at an exhibition on Childhood. In 1987, she received the highest commendation, in the professional category, at the Canadian Grand Prix of Painting at Saint-Eustache in Quebec.
