Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in engraving and a Master’s degree in creation from the University of Quebec in Montreal, Réal Dumais was first interested in prints and paper materials and then opened up to more production. installation that combined sculptural and two-dimensional elements. In addition to his work as a professor of visual arts at the Cégep de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, he has produced several publications, including artists’ books and art books, and participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the Quebec: Rimouski Regional Museum in 1977, Galerie de l’UQAM in 1981, Galerie Action Art Actuel in 1995 as well as in 2003-2004 with the exhibition The Seven Deadly Sins, for my pleasure only which intended to reflect on the current world by pointing out its excesses and contradictions. A founding member of Action Art Actuel, he was very involved in his region through his presence on numerous committees and organizations. His works are found in the collection of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Galerie de l’UQAM,  Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. the Musée régional de Rimouski and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
