Born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1941, Albert V. Breau moved to Montreal at the age of 14 with the goal of becoming a boxer. As an amateur he won the Golden Gloves, the Diamond Gloves and the Canadian Welterweight Championship. As a professional “Ace” Breau won the Canadian Welterweight Championship in 1967.

At the end of his boxing career, he embraced the arts. Self-taught, Breau painted en plein air with artists Sarah Dickinson, Tibor K. Thomas, Harold Boys, Michel Lapensée, Maurice Domingue, Helmut Gerth and Ron Simpkins.

Since 1972, he has traveled extensively in search of inspirational landscapes. He has exhibited extensively throughout Canada and the United States.
